The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe was opened on May 10, 2005. It was given a confusing atomsphere on purpose to show an ordered system that has lost touch with human reason. The memorial is 19,000 sq. ft. and consists of 2,711 concrete slabs arranged in a grid pattern on a sloping field.
